Activities

At Annabel House we aim to provide our residents with a well balanced activity program, developed to provide stimulation.

We have a wide range of external leisure activities (dependent on the ability of individual residents) which includes walks to our local park, shopping trips and visits to our local Garden Centre.

We also have plenty of internal leisure activities provided by our team, and by outside visitors.

Frances visits twice a week playing the piano and keyboard providing our residents with entertainment and musical stimulation through well-known songs. Janet Bliss visits once a week with her dogs spending at least two hours with the residents with "Animal Therapy" (Read some great articles about it here). The residents stroke, touch and enjoy Janet's dog.

We have a monthly visit on a Sunday by a local Church group who hold a small Service with songs.

We have a superb, self motivated Activities Facilitator, Jane Osiecki, who works full time at the Home providing group activities such as games, music, dancing, singing and one-on-one activities such as painting, arts and crafts, talking and reading with the residents.

In addition, we have a lady who provides Aromatherapy weekly.

Occasionally we have additional external groups coming into the Home such as Frantic Theatre Company and entertainers providing live musical instruments.

Daily newspapers are also made available.

And if you're starting to feel a bit jealous as to what we are offering to our residents, we extend our activities program to relatives of our residents who are more than welcome to come in and spend some time enjoying these activities with their loved ones!
