Here at Annabel house we have started offering IT training as one of the activity choices available for our residents.
This has proven to be very popular, with people getting a lot out of the resources available, and the freedom you can gain once you have access to the big world wide web!
The ‘Rainbow Singers’ will be joining us on August 17th at 3.00pm for a good old sing along. It would be great if you could come and join in the fun!
What a lovely couple of weeks it has been!! We have had lots of work in the garden going on, making sure we have a tranquil spot for the residents to relax in over the past week, flowers are in bloom and it is looking lovely.
On another note, there will be a quality circle meeting on the 28th July for any one who would like to attend – and as the weather is so lovely, in true Wimbledon style we will be having cream teas in the dining room on the 5th July.
The tuck shop is now up and running for the residents and their relatives, which has been well received by all, so if you are visiting and fancy a bar of chocolate, just let Carolina know!
Annabel house has just opened a new shop for the residents and their relatives. We are selling crisps, sweets and chocolate, as well as toiletries. This is a not for profit venture, giving the residents a little more freedom of choice, and the relatives a chance to have a bar of chocolate when they visit!!
This week we celebrated the occasion of 2 of our team members reaching their 10 year mile stone here at Annabel house. our matron Jean, and her devoted deputy Peter have been here for a happy and fulfilling 10 years. The occasion was marked by our resident cook Sue, baking a fantastic chocolate cake. Congratulations Jean and Peter, and may the next 10 be as good as the last.
We have now got a new Television in the dining room for our residents, where they can listen to and watch ambient DVD’s. For the more active residents we have installed a new WII machine, which is going down well.

We have had three cupboards removed from the activities room, and are waiting for the decorator to come and redecorate. We are also in the process of starting a shop which will be selling chocolate, crisps, toiletries etc. We hope this will be ready shortly.
