About Annabel House
Our building, our services, and our locationOur care provides residents with care and support in a dedicated environment when they decide that the time has come to make the step away from their own home. At Annabel House, we firmly believe that this is just another stage on an individual’s life journey. The move to a Nursing Home opens a whole range of new opportunities and avenues for our residents to explore.
Respite Care is the ideal option for somebody who normally lives at home with care and support of a family member or loved one. Perhaps the carer requires hospital treatment or even a short break! In that case the individual can stay at our home for a period of respite care. This can range from one to six weeks. The carer and the individual can rest safe in the knowledge that their care needs will be met by friendly and professional staff. Many people who choose Annabel House for respite care subsequently decide that our home is the home for them when they require longer term care.
Sometimes when a person has spent time in hospital for an operation or illness they will benefit from a period of convalescent care in a care home before moving back to their own home again. Again, the length of time is determined by the needs of the individual not by a set “package” with the support of a professional multidisciplinary care team the individual can concentrate on rest and recuperation in a safe and homely environment.
We are located close to the sea front and town centre of Weston Super Mare with easy access to local bus routes. We serve areas including, but not limited to Somerset, Bristol, Bath and the surrounding areas with good road and rail links.
We aim to make the transition into a Nursing Home environment as easy and comfortable as possible. We have qualified nurses on duty 24 hours a day together with a team of experienced health care assistants and ancillary staff. Our staff have outstanding skills and experience with dealing with a wide variety of conditions.
We take a person centred approach towards our care; our aim is for our residents to be able to maintain maximum independence, in turn enabling them to live as normal a life as possible. Our experienced staff take pride in providing our residents with privacy, respect, dignity and independence.
We strive to provide a holistic approach using stimulation and physical enablement; this promotes a higher level of independence. Staff and relatives play a big part in our residents’ wellbeing; we like to think of ourselves as a family.
